The Engineering function is the backbone of The Modern Milkman's operations. This team is responsible for the entire technology stack, including our customer-facing apps, internal logistics and delivery management systems, and our e-commerce platform. As an Engineering Manager, your primary function is to enable your team to build robust, efficient, and user-friendly products that directly support and scale the business, from customer acquisition to last-mile delivery. 

The Function 

The Engineering Manager at The Modern Milkman is a key leadership position responsible for guiding and nurturing a high-performing team of software engineers. You will blend technical expertise with people management skills to drive the development of our core technology platforms, ensuring we have the scalable and reliable systems needed to deliver on our mission of making sustainable living easy for our customers. 

Duties and Areas of Responsibilities 

- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers. Conduct regular one-on-ones, manage performance reviews, and support career growth. 

- Technical Strategy: Work with product leadership to define the technical roadmap, set architectural standards, and ensure the team is building with scalability, security, and maintainability in mind. 

- Delivery & Execution: Oversee the full software development lifecycle for your team's projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features that meet business objectives. 

- Recruitment & Onboarding:Actively participate in the hiring process to build a diverse and talented team, and effectively onboard new hires to ensure they are set up for success. 

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure alignment across teams.
