Your Title: Quality Assurance Lead.
Your Location: Hybrid/Brazil HQ address - Nações Unidas 12901 - São Paulo - SP (this role requires one day per week in the office on a rotating schedule, plus an additional day in the office each month).
You Report To: Engineering Manager.

About the Opportunity
First Help Financial, voted and certified as a “” by our workforce for five years in a row, is adding a new partner to our Engineering department to accommodate our remarkable growth! This individual will lead the quality and testing effort for a Scrum Team and push quality process above and beyond standards.
What you will do:
Your duties include, but are not limited to:
Build and execute manual and automated test cases.
Collaborate with other team members, build a long-term quality strategy and drive the successful implementation over time.
Provide expertise on the grooming, estimating, and testing of the stories in a sprint.
Support scrum team in the creation of proper test cases.
Track and report bugs that have been found.
Manage testing resources as needed to complete the sprint and overall epic goals.
Develop smoke tests, sanity tests, performance, and reliability testing as needed.
Provide quality metrics and expert insight into the health of the software.
Use appropriate quality tools and infrastructure to scale and manage our testing effort.
Enhance and improve the testing methodology for better results, increased productivity, and higher quality, becoming the QA expert in the team.
What you bring:
Demonstrated career stability with a track record of sustained impact in prior roles.
7+ years of QA experience in an Agile environment, including ownership of testing across multiple releases.
Strong automation experience building and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Postman (or equivalent frameworks/tools).
Shift-left quality mindset: bias for action in driving testing and quality advocacy earlier in the development lifecycle.
Testing strategy leadership: ability to define and execute a comprehensive testing approach across manual, unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing.
Strong grasp of software quality practices including test design techniques, defect lifecycle, CI/CD test integration, and release readiness criteria.
Cloud exposure (preferred) with experience testing cloud-hosted applications; AWS strongly preferred.
Monitoring/observability experience (preferred) using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and/or Grafana to validate releases, troubleshoot issues, and support incident triage.
Tool proficiency (preferred): JIRA, TestRail, Postman, and Automation Anywhere (or similar tooling).
Metrics-driven approach: experience defining and using testing and operational quality metrics such as test coverage, defect trends, and reliability measures (MTTF, MTTR, MTBF).
Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills—able to zoom out for big-picture risk assessment while remaining hands-on when needed.
Exploratory testing strength with an ability to uncover edge cases and high-risk scenarios.
Impact analysis capability: assess downstream risk and identify testing scope for changes across systems/modules.
International QA certifications (preferred) such as ISTQB (Foundation/Advanced), CSQA/CSTE, or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.
Education (preferred): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Domain knowledge (preferred): experience with financial software and regulated environments.
