As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, on the Platform Team you will be crucial in developing and maintaining core features and infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain features for the main StudentCrowd website, directly impacting review generation, accommodation discovery, and the reservation process.
- Develop tools and systems that enable accommodation providers to efficiently manage listings, display adverts, and utilize features like the review reply system.
- Improve the system used by our internal team to publish and manage editorial content.
- Develop and maintain our unified login and authentication system across all StudentCrowd applications
- Manage and enhance our automated deployment pipelines.
- Contribute to the ownership and maintenance of our underlying infrastructure.
- Help maintain the platform's security and performance through systems like Cloudflare WAF and Zero Trust.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of professional experience in fullstack software development.
- Deep expertise in PHP frameworks (e.g., Symfony, Laravel) and modern JavaScript.
- Strong proficiency with relational databases, specifically MySQL, including performance optimization and schema design.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of complex projects, and mentor and help other team members grow.
- Familiarity with search technologies such as Elasticsearch.
- A strong commitment to clean code, automated testing, and code review practices.
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Pulumi or Terraform.
- Experience in a high-growth scale-up environment.
