IMS Systems Programmer - Lead

100% Remote Position, CLT, Business Hours (Monday to Friday), Advanced to Fluent English Required.

As an IMS Systems Programmer, you will have the opportunity to shape the technology foundation that powers our world. Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls the operating system, hardware, and other system software of a computer. You will be a problem-solving expert, with the necessary skills to fix even the most complex issues that arise.

In this role, you will provide support for Mainframe operating system platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming, which form the backbone of our applications. You will guide functional objectives regarding technologies and use your specialized knowledge to drive solutions for complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the administration and maintenance of the IMS system.
• Plan, execute, and manage IMS system updates, preventive maintenance, and installation of IBM IMS products and related tools.
• Ensure system performance and security
• Monitor mainframe environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement security measures to maintain compliance and high availability.
• Collaborate and drive process improvements
• Work with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, automate tasks using scripts, and increase operational efficiency.

Required Technical and Professional Knowledge

• Experience with IMS (Information Management System) programming and system support.
• Proficiency in tools such as SMP/E for software installation and maintenance.
• Experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and software testing.
• Ability to plan and execute IMS system updates.
• Experience installing preventive and on-demand maintenance for IBM IMS products, IMS database utilities, and third-party IMS tools.
• Experience with DB2, z/OS, ServiceNow, NetView, FTP, SFTP, Connect:Direct, JCL, IBM utilities, etc., ideally in a complex GDPS environment.
• Advanced English (direct communication with global client)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Desirable Technical and Professional Experience

• Proficiency in Assembler, Java, REXX, and Python for automation and integration.
• Familiarity with scripting to optimize operational efficiency.
