The Opportunity
We have partnered with our UK-based client to recruit a Lead Data Engineer who can both optimise their existing data platforms and guide future development. This position demands strong hands-on development skills in Azure (SQL Server, Databricks) and Python, combined with the ability to lead and mentor a distributed development team.

  • R$10,000-R$15,000 per month (CLT) or R$18,000 - R$27,000 per month (CNPJ)
  • Working from our Florianópolis office (2-3 set days per week)
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing data platforms and systems
  • Leading and mentoring a distributed development team

    Atividades

    Your Role
    As a hands-on Lead Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for both technical delivery and team leadership for a platform which serves globally renowned clients.

    Technical Responsibilities:

  • Architecting, developing, and managing SQL, NoSQL, and data warehouse databases
  • Maintaining and optimising Azure-based data solutions (Azure SQL, Databricks)
  • Designing and maintaining scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines
  • Engineering and maintaining internal and external facing API service
  • Implementing robust data quality monitoring and management
  • Overseeing version control processes and deployment pipelines
  • Managing master data and ensuring data integrity
  • Ensuring system reliability and performance optimization

    • Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Leading a distributed development team
  • Making key technical decisions for system improvements
  • Setting and maintaining coding standards
  • Performing thorough code reviews
  • Providing technical mentorship
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define business requirements
  • Managing technical debt and system stability

    • Technical Requirements

    Core Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Azure Platform expertise: Azure DevOp, Databricks, Azure SQL
  • Advanced Python development
  • SQL and NoSQL database management
  • Data warehouse architecture and dimensional modelling
  • Master data management concepts
  • Data quality monitoring and management
  • Distributed systems and networking concepts
  • Pipeline design and optimization
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD

    • Bonus Technical Skills:

  • Docker and containerization
  • Flask development
  • API design and implementation

    • Leadership Requirements

  • Experience leading development teams
  • Strong code review and mentoring skills
  • Technical project management capability
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Typically this role is associated with 5+ years of relevant technical experience
